Goat and Hare Galinbundinya Time Trial
Galinbundinya Trail, Lidster
09:00 – 13:00
Test your climbing prowess and descending mastery. Held on the new Galinbundinya Trail in Glenwood State forest outside of Orange, The Goat & Hare is a mountain bike time trial. There will be one one timed run up and one down, with the Goat, Hare and combined winners announced. The Galinbundinya Trail was opened late 2020. It was professionally built by Iconic Trails as a multi purpose dual direction track to Green standard. It can be enjoyed by riders of all abilities with it's fast flowing form and easy gradients. It winds along beautiful Boree Creek to the base of Federal Falls and it's proved hugely popular this year. The track is 7.3km both ways with 200m of elevation. Riders will be set off individually from the bottom, when everyone reaches the top then riders will be set off individually back down. To support the smooth running of the event there will be a time cut off on the ascent, with riders diverted to the fire road if not climbing up before sceduled descent start. You can also choose just to compete in the uphill or downhill run. The event will be hosted from the Glenwood Forest Trail Head, about 15m minutes west of Orange on the corner of Cargo and Boree roads near the Lidster Fire Station. All riders require a Aus Cycling license, helmet and sufficient water for themselves. This will be a COVID-safe event. Orange MTB Club has worked hard to set up events in the current context and ask for understanding and compliance as we navigate racing within roadmap to re-opening. All participants, volunteers and spectators will need to check in using the Service NSW QR code. All participants, volunteers and spectators aged 16 and over will also need to provide evidence of their double covid-19 vaccination. Please dont come on the day if you are unwell. Categories: Under 17 Female Under 17 Male Female Open Male Open Female E Bike Male E Bike Families - your entry fees will be manually returned to you on the day to bring your total charge down to the advertised cap.
